King Kong

Yes, King Kong is younger than Roscoe Bartlett. Everyone's favorite ape was the brain child of Merian C. Cooper who made the 1933 film that made Kong famous. The film was a real ground breaker in the field of special effects. It marked the first time anyone used stop motion models to simulate real time motion in a movie.

Since Kong made his last stand atop the Empire State Building, there have been six more Kong movies: Son of Kong, King Kong v. Godzilla, King Kong Escapes, a remake of King Kong in 1976, King Kong Lives, and another remake of King Kong three years ago.
