Stanley Kubrick

One of the greatest film makers of all time, Stanley Kubrick, was younger than Roscoe Bartlett. His films, Spartacus (1960), Lolita (1962), Dr. Strangelove (1964), 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), A Clockwork Orange (1971), Barry Lyndon (1975), and Full Metal Jacket (1987), were nominated for 27 Oscars and won 9 of them. Kubrick was notoriously reclusive, preferring the company of his many cats and dogs to that of his coworkers. But then, the feeling was mutual. Actors described him as rude, tactless, ruthless, cheap and greedy. Tom Cruise, on the other hand, liked him. What does that tell you? Kubrick died in his sleep nine years ago.
