Alaska

On January 3, 1959, Alaska became our 49th state, and the first that did not share a border with any other state. Famous people from Alaska include Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox, Carlos Boozer of the Utah Jazz, and Hugh Hefner's girlfriend, Holly Madison. Oh, and of course Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin is John McCain's running mate. Imagine, just two years ago, she was the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, population 8500. Hey, let's not be knocking Wasilla. It's also the home of porn star April Flowers. Sorry, you're going to have to find your own picture of her.
