Hawaii

On August 21, 1959, Hawaii became our 50th state. Famous people from Hawaii include Ron Darling and Sid Fernandez of the New York Mets, Nicole Kidman, Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle), and coach Rick Pitino. Hawaii also produced Miss Teen USA in 1985, Miss Universe in 1997, and Miss America in 1992 and 2001. Yes, Barack Obama went to high school here, as well. It is the land of beautiful people.
